A Boy and His Kite....

This past May, Keith and I went to Mackinac Island. Mackinac Island is between the UPI of Michigan and mainland of Michigan.  Mackinac is a beautiful place with a ton of fudge shops and quaint gift shops on the main street. We were wandering around looking in these different gift shops when Keith spotted a kite in one of these shops. Now, this isn't just a kite you can buy at Wal-mart, no it is a Prism Speed Foil Kite Snapshot 2.5.(www.prismkites.com)  If the wind is strong enough, this kite is powerful enough to lift Keith off the ground when he is flying it. Ethan, upon seeing the kite, has wanted one for himself. He had Keith look up places he could buy one and wanted to get it ASAP. Well, they don't sell these kites close to home, but they found a place down here that sold Prism kites. Ethan, knowing we would be near a kite shop down here started saving his money for one. He saved his pennies and last week, after our fishing trip, he went to the kite store and purchased his kite. His kite is a bit lighter, than Keith's. Can you imagine Ethan with a kite that could lift him off the ground? All we saw was trouble! Ethan's kite is Prism Speed Foil Kite Snapshot 1.4. It is their lightest kite and is for beginners.

Here it is!

I love the next few pics of Keith teaching Ethan how to fly his kite!

Ethan's first solo flight with his kite.

Sailing through the air.
Check out his concentration on the beach today.

Keith and Ethan flying their kites on the beach. Two peas in a pod!

Check out www.kiteboardingtampabay.com. We have a found a new sport to try. We could even bring it back home using it in the winter on the bay. The only problem for me is knowing just how many sharks live in Tampa Bay. I'm not joking, a local was telling me about seeing a Bull Shark right under him when he was windsurfing. I'll let you know how it goes when and IF I give it a try!
